“Kite heeled a low liner off the 11th tee, but didn`t hit anyone. He finished with his second 73.
“It was unbelievable,“ said Nick Faldo, playing with Kite and Masters champion Fred Couples. “I haven`t seen anything like that in years. If it would have hit anybody, it would have been terrible.`”
Tom Kite, coming off winning the ’92 US Open, tee’d off on #11 during the first round of the 1992 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
